Our Christmas Get-Away

This year, my entire family decided we'd spend the Christmas weekend together at my parents' cabin in Show Low, AZ. We had high hopes of a white Christmas.... But that didn't happen. So we opted for some fishing instead. Thought I'd share some pics of my family enjoying one of the best weekends we've had in a long time! Hope you all are enjoying the holiday season with your family as well!

The Holiday Season

I have officially closed the books on my first {crazy} holiday season! I'm not going to lie... It's been kind of exhausting at times and I've lost a lot of sleep. Sorry to those who usually get a plate of goodies from me by now. It may be a little late.... Or I may not get to it.... We'll have to see....    :)
But all in all, it was so much fun and I'm so excited that I was able to capture at least one "moment" that each family will cherish. That's what it's all about for me. Sure, another photographer could critique the heck out of it. But for me, it's all about un-traditional, natural-looking shots where I can capture a "moment" for a family. Something that gives you a glimpse into their lives. My goal is to provide them with something that makes them smile! And I know I'm smiling at so many of the things I captured this season. Thank you to each of you that have given me this opportunity! Thank you for your patience and your willingness to do whatever I recommended. I had so much fun getting to know you all and getting the opportunity to be a part of some of your "raw" family moments. These are the moments that kept me going. I hope everyone enjoys the remainder of the holiday season with your families. Now you better start thinking of how we can top it with next year's pics... LOL :)
Check back soon... I'm awaiting the arrival of a newborn and I'll be shooting him when he's just DAYS old! I can't wait!!

Now I'm off to hit the mall for some Christmas shopping and maybe tonight I'll even give me personal/family blog some much-needed attention. We'll have to see about that too!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

The Grand Finale

I shot my last family of the season and I enjoyed every second of it. They were so much fun! The mom is a hoot, the little boy has more modeling skills than you can imagine, the dad is such a guy's-guy, and the little girl has P.R.I.N.C.E.S.S. written ALL over her. They're such a fun family! I'm glad I finished off the holiday season with their cute faces... They were my Grand Finale.

Holiday Cards

Here are some examples of a few of the cards I've created this holiday season.

A Riot!

I have to start by saying how much we love this family!! April & my husband are cousins, which rightfully makes her MY cousin (or so we think). We have such a fun friendship and I was thrilled she asked me to do their pics. There's never a dull moment when they're around so I knew it'd be a lot of fun!

Happy BirthdayS and Merry Christmas!

This was a shoot I did for my cousin's girls. Our goal was to get some newborn shots of her 5 week old, some Christmas dress and jammie pics of them for their Christmas card, and some 3rd birthday shots of her oldest. This was an action-packed session full of costume changes and very energetic entertainment by their Grandma!

Personality!

To me, a perfect picture of a child is one that captures their true personality and not the staged look with "cheese" plastered on their lips. These kiddos all have their own unique personalities and they shine through so brightly is so many of these pics. This session was loads of fun. They kept me on my toes and had me laughing quite a bit! I couldn't be more pleased with how these turned out!
